ASA Failover fails due to VPN peers being different
Had two ASA 5520 ver 7.0(4, configured to work as failovers. One machine failed and the replacement came with a different S/W n licence. The F/O is being rejected by the running machine coz of different amount of VPN peers. Existing is 300, whereas the new machine comes with 750. Cisco says that they cannot downgrade the licence on new ASA, and end customer doesn't allow to touch running ASA until there's a 2nd in production. Cannot afford any downtime.
Any workaround to get both ASA to work side by side to allow taking the primary box down for license upgrade... been in a dead end with TAC and Licensing's best option is to change their tool with development to allow licence downgrade. The ASA is in a business critical environment...
