Okay, so I am new to using this platform. I know that the ASA can generate a ton of log messages, but I am curious what / if any reporting tools are available with the ASA. If I need to correlate how many of such & such port has been hit is there an easy way to generate such a report?
If the ASA doesn't do this too well - does anyone know of any low cost / free applications that can provide for robust report writing?
Thanks,
Jim

The ASA itself does not have a built-in reporting engine. The device can be configured to send syslog messages (with various levels of verbosity) to an external syslog server. Once the logs are sent to an external source, there are plenty of cheap/free tools to perform some basic reporting.
There are a few referenced in this URL:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for confirming that. I'll look at these other tools!
