authentication of EIGRP neighbors

I want to know how much delay I would get if I configure md5 authentication in my eigrp neighbors; I guess it is not much, but I 'd like to have the info, if somebody knows I'll apreciate it

thanks

Re: authentication of EIGRP neighbors

Hello,

there will be no noticeable delay with EIGRP authentication. It will be a MD5 hash in the EIGRP packets and the time it costs is the processing time for generating the hash. This is in the order of microseconds and finally neglegible.

Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.
