Bad BPR sig

Hi ,

I was upgrading 5 IDSs from version 3 to version 4 using the version 4 CD when one of them gave me the following message in RED on the bootom right corner of the screen after detecting the Keyboard and the CD drive.

The message :

Bad PBR signal no rom Basic system Halted...

I tried to restart a few times but it is alwayes teh same message

did anyone see this message before? Can any one help ?

thanks in advance.

Re: Bad BPR sig

It is more of a windows problem than a IDS problem. The message indicates that that no active partition has been defined in fdisk, hard disk drive not setup properly, or hard disk drive is bad. I'm not sure of the exact procedure but you will probably need to boot from a bootable diskette and enter fdisk.
