1. How do you obtain CTR? If we purchase an IDS sensor (4210 for example) is it included with the applicance? Or is it a seperate purchase, such as you would have to buy CiscoWorks or some other package to get it.
2. Does CTR only work with IDS appliances, or can it also work with the limited IDS implementations included in PIX firewalls and IOS?
1. CTR is included in all the appliance sensor accessory kits now. You can also download CTR from CCO. It is a free download. The license is good until July 15. We are currently working on an update to extend the license date.
2. Currently CTR can handle alarms from any Cisco IDS sensor as well as ISS 6.5 and 7.0. CTR does not handle any of the limitied IDS implementations from PIX or IOS at this time.
