Basic Router Security

I need to know what basic security measures you take on the actual router to make it hack proof from the internal and external world.

start by securing the passwords.

depending on the size of the network, either use a local userid password database or

go with a aaa server for authentication.

Consider access lists for telnet access.

Continuos from millerv. change the snmp access community name. Upgrade the IOS for security hole. And some more……
