Boot failure - checksum failures on VPN3030

We have a VPN3030 concentrator that cannot be rebooted after a power interruption yesterday. The messages at boot are:

Boot-ROM Initializing...

Boot configured 128Mb of RAM.

...

Loading image ..........

Verifying image checksum ...........failed.

The active image checksum did not match the header information!

Attempting to load the inactive code image!

Loading image ..........Inactive code image was successfully loaded...

Checksum calculation will now begin...

...........The inactive image checksum did not match the header information!

THE SYSTEM WILL NOT CONTINUE...

WARNING - If this message is seen then either an IDE device

was not found or a valid main image could not be loaded!

Boot code complete...

and there is no output after that. I have tried to toggle the boot image via the Boot Menu options (accessed by interrupting the boot with a control-G), but to no avail.

Is there any way to get to a lower level rommon type hardware level to reload the OS image to get our concentrator back online? I have opened a TAC case yesterday evening, but was told that the TAC engineer is waiting for input from the VPN3000 hardware engineers to find out how to do this.

Thanks for any help.

I too belive that this could be more like a hardwar failure. Power intrruptions can cause the hardware to fail and malfunction.

Did you get a reply from TAC on this issue? I am having the same problem after a power failure and wondering if you already have the solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
