BT Together ADSL, Win 98 and VPN client

I have the products listed above, all seems to go well, I login in to my internet provider over ADSL to begin with - connection is fine from here, I then load up the VPN client, again a connection is achieved (the handshake takes place successfully), however as soon as I try and request data nothing happens, If I pull up the VPN client it reports a lot of data out but no data in.

Any ideas?

You’re probably using NAT. IPSEC will setup over NAT but will not be able to build the tunnel after negotiation. If you are using a concentrator you can use NAT transparency mode, otherwise… you’ll need a real IP address.
