Calculating CPU load on pix: how to?

Hi all.

My Customer has a Pix running PIX Version 5.2(9) and cannot upgrade the software because a Token Ring interface on the firewall is needed.

Given that the "show cpu usage" command is not available on that software release, how can I calculate an estimate of the cpu load?

I have sampled the output of "show processes" once a minute (about 60000 milliseconds) for several minutes and I have observed that the 557poll process has a Runtime of about 46000 milliseconds per minute. Does this mean that the cpu load produced by that process is 46/60= 76.6%? Of course I hope not!

Any hint is appreciated

Thank you

michele

Why don't you upgrade using the ethernet interface or am I missing something??

Hi.

I cannot upgrade the software because a Token Ring interface on the firewall is needed.

My Customer won't shift to any different solution unless I prove the current CPU load is high.
