Can I reduce the memory on mp-bgp

Hi ,

On my PEs I would like to reduce the consomation of memory with mp-bgp .

I din't found any documents on this chapiter .

For an idea the PE is consomme like 13 or 14 Mbts and the PE have like 700 idbs configured on it .

If some one have an idea I will be happy .

Re: Can I reduce the memory on mp-bgp

Here are a few things that you could try to reduce the memory consumption and also the CPU utilization. Enable "ip tcp path-mtu-discovery" on all routers. This will help with convergence and scalability. Hence CPU will be less utilized.

- If you have multiple peer-groups configured that have the same outbound policy, it's better if you put these peers in the same peer-group.

-Also have a maximum of 25 PEs per peer-group.

Lastly ensure that you do not have a lot of debugs turned on.

Re: Can I reduce the memory on mp-bgp

Thanks a lot for the answer.

I have already enable the tcp path-mtu-discovery,selective-ack,mss 1516 and window-size 65535.

I don't have High CPU problem ,I have 17 percent for 5 min.

I have only single peer-group configured but I have 35 PEs un thispeer-group.

I don't have any debug turned on.

So you think it should be the 35 PEs in the same group can cause this consumption of memory ?

Thanks .
