Can Not Do Drive Mapping after VPN is connected via PIX515

Dear Sir,

Below is our VPN configuration applied on PIX 515 Firewall. It works when I dialed IP address of PIX to establish VPN connection from NT server. But I can not do drive mapping after VPN connection is established. (I mapped to \\Server's IP\Sharename, not use server name)

The inside network ip address is from 192.168.100.1 to 192.168.100.254

The local pool IP defined on PIX is 192.168.101.1 to 192.168.101.254

Can someone help me to find out if I miss anything from the following configuration? Thanks. -Simon

ip local pool iprange 192.168.101.1-192.168.101.254

vpdn group 1 accept dialin pptp

vpdn group 1 ppp authentication chap

vpdn group 1 ppp authentication mschap

vpdn group 1 ppp encryption mppe auto

vpdn group 1 client configuration address local iprange

vpdn group 1 client authentication local

vpdn group 1 client configuration dns 192.168.100.30

vpdn group 1 client configuration wins 192.168.100.30

vpdn username cisco password vpn

vpdn enable outside

Access-list 101 permit ip 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.101.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (inside) 0 access-list 101

sysopt connection permit-pptp

sysopt connection permit-l2tp

Re: Can Not Do Drive Mapping after VPN is connected via PIX515

I would check to make sure WINs is working properly. Log in via the VPN, and query the WINS server to make sure you see your workstation in it.

I'm guessing that you wont, which probably means you can't use WINs to lookup the name of the server.

The other obvious thing to do is to verify that the server also appears in the WINs database.
