we use VMS 2.2 firewall MC. I'm trying to import an already configured PIX firewall, but the "Global" scope does not exist in order to add a device under it. That is, when I try to create a subgroup under the Global group in order to import the device in this subgroup, there is no "Global" group available in order to add my subgroup. Anyone knows anything about this issue?
Thanks

So when you go under Devices - Managing Groups there's nothing in there?
Do you have the full VMS 2.2 install? If so, there is currently a known problem with any applets that use the JRE and VMS 2.2. This is addressed in the as yet unreleased SP2 for VMS 2.2.
The problem is that if you are running with a full install, CSAMC is running and that sets your CMF server into SSL mode. When browsing to the desktop
with the normal URL (http://
the Core Apache to fail to initialize correctly. They will load, thus you will not see an empty space where the applet should be, however they will fail to start since initialization could not complete. For object selector, this would result in it not being able to load the device hierarchy, and why you wouldn't see global.
Please try the following work-around:
Browse to the CMF desktop using this URL:
https://
This should bypass the initializer and allow the applets to run correctly.

now its working fine with the workaround.
Actually I have installed VMS2.2 update 1 which solves the problem entirely.
Thanks a lot for the help.
