Can't access windows shares with VPN client

I am connected to a Windows network using easyvpn and the VPN client. I can ping computers on the network by name or ip, but get the following error when trying to map a driver letter to a windows share.

c:\>net use m:\\farley\drvc

System error 53 has occurred.

The network path was not found.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

ON the network connection that your VPN is using do you have "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Print Sharing" checked?

Hope this helps

Could be a WINS issue, maybe? IPSEC does not encapsulate NetBIOS broadcast traffic. A WINS server is required to map a drive on the Microsoft network.

Check the following link for more info:

Mystery solved. Unfortunately, it was like those TV mystery shows where you have to know something that wasn't revealed in the plot in order to get the answer.

I checked my firewall and it was blocking traffic to the secure ip range at the office.

Thanks for all the help.
