can't add pix to network in cspm3.0f topology

when I add pix to a network,it complains "your ip address can't be the same to your gateway address" when I set its outside interface ip address using 'dis conver interface settings',but I can manually set it .

what is wrong ?

for example, when I add pix1 to network 172.16.3.0,at the outside interface ip address tab,it discover "172.16.3.2" ip address for this interface automaticly,but if i press "next" button,the error messages will appear.

It appears to be a conflict with the internal ip address and the gateway, not the external address. Just guessing here since I can't see the screen you're on.
