Can´t get ip connection to the FWSM from the MSFC2

Hello,

I want to configure my FWSM module with PDM, but i can´t get an ip connection to the FWSM.

I´ve followed the instructions in the Catalyst 6500 series and cisco 7600 series firewall service module installation and configuration note.

I have configured firewall groups and vlan´s. But i can´t ping from the msfc to the fwsm and the other way around.

Kind regards,

Re: Can´t get ip connection to the FWSM from the MSFC2

Hi,

What does the interface status say? can you share the relevant portion of the configs from msfc, cat and fwsm? also the version. (You can mask out IPs)

Thanks

Nadeem

Re: Can´t get ip connection to the FWSM from the MSFC2

Nadeem,

Problem is solved. The FWSM is different than a Pix.

I create a rul icmp permit 0 0 inside and i can ping from the msfc to the fwsm.

With the rule telnet 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 it is possible to telnet to the fwsm

With access lists it is possible to upgrade the fwsm with tftp.
