I am trying to setup some Traceroute/PING filters on the PIX. Whenever I try to assign a object-group to the PIX outside interface, it says that their is 'no static NAT rule configured for the destination host or network on interface outside'
Does this filter require a PAT address be configured as the static NAT, for the hosts contained in the object-group ? Here is the group config:
That is a complaint of the PDM and not necessarily the OS of the Pix itself. The PDM does not like to do ANYTHING unless it has a PDM location telling it exactly what interface the address can be found.
You need a static command for those four hosts or a NAT 0 command for your ACL to be functional using that object-group. For it to be functional and for the PDM to like it, you must have static\NAT0 AND an assigned PDM location. You can assign the PDM location manually or using the wizard that pops up after that warning.
