Cannot launch ASDM

Hello all,

I have ASA 8.0(2) and never run ASDM before. I just download ASDM launcher v1.3(30) but I was never able to connect to my ASA via ASDM. Can someone help?

What is the error you get while trying to connect with ASDM ?

Some possible problems -

- Your system IP is not allowed for HTTP management in the ASA config.

- incorrect version of JAVA on your system.

The error message is:

ASDM is unable to continue loading. Click OK to exit from ASDM. Unconnected sockets not implemented.

This happens when I try to connect to both ASA5520 and ASA5510.

Try reinstalling JAVA preferable an updated version.

You need to download Jave 2 SE v1.4.2.... If you have the latest version of Java it won't work.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Click on "Download J2SE JRE"

This should fix your problem.
