Hi All,
I wonder why I cannot ping outside interface of the PIX from inside. I allready allow icmp to inside and outside, but still cannot ping ip address of the outside interface. Please advice. Thank you for your help.

Chris

pix by default doesn't permit this operation.

Hi Chris,
If you are allowing icmp on the internal interface and allwoing it on the external interface as well, then ping should work with you. Make sure that you are within the IP range you're allwoing, verify that you have applied the access-lists on the interfaces and that you saved you config... if things are still not working send me you ACL rules. One good thing also to check is the address translation from inside to outside, is it applied or not?

ICMP is NOT allowed across the interface.
You will not be able to ping the outside or dmz interface if you are sitting on the inside of the pix.
