Whenever I boot up my pix 501, I get the message "Cannot select private keytype". I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere on the web and would really apprecaite it if anyone could give me any insight,.

This message usually means you have an old public/private key pair stored in the PIX, possibly you created it at one point and then changed the PIX's IP address or something similar. Anyway it's not anything to worry about in general. To renew the key and get rid of the message you can do the following:

config t

ca zeroize rsa

ca generate rsa key 512

ca save all
