Re: Cisco 851 to Microsoft ISA 2004

Yes its possible

Check this link (its about win2000 but its same for ISA 2004)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk583/tk372/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800b12b5.shtml

Its difficull to troubleshoot IPsec VPN between devices from different vendors

Windows VPNs are not so reliable (as Windows are not so reliable)

Also PC platform is not excellent network device...its better to use special network devices ... Cisco Routers has no hard drives (all is stored on flash) - so probability of crash is much more lower...

Cisco router has also much more better encrypting performace for IPsec VPNs

Also you can easily take configuration from Cisco router and upload to different box...

So its plus for Cisco routers..

What is reason for deploying Windows VPN???

I see only one case when use Windows VPN - its place syslog server on Win server and create Ipsec VPN for log messages - its good from security reasons

Hope that helps rate if it does
