Cisco ASA5520 cannot telnet into ASA

Hello

I can ping the ASA

I can access the ASDM GUI and run commands from the GUI CLI tool

I user Putty and cannot telnet into the ASA. I was able to do this before although it has been a month since I needed to

Per a co-worker, the last thing he did, approx a mont ago, was add "Zix".

What should I be looking for?

Can't say that I have never run into problems with Telnet. I would suggest moving to using SSH through the Putty client. You could enable SSH through the ASDM GUI.

Only special thing related to Telnet is the fact that it cant be used from behind the external interface. But I imagine that this is not the case with your setup since you say it has worked.

I would suggest looking at the output of

show asp table socket

To determine what ports the ASA is listening on.

I would also consider removing and adding the "telnet" related configurations again.
