I am looking into the CSM application and was wondering what the security ramifications of opening port 80 to http traffic on my core switch are. I am running a 6509 at this time as my core device.

In addition, I am running s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF10, which does not allow me to run the command to have secure-server or https.

HTTPS is the default transport for firewalls, IPS devices and IOS devices running > 12.3.
SSH is used for all Catalyst and 7600 (all IOS versions).
Telnet is the default for IOS devices running 12.1 & 12.2
These are all configurable defaults defined under Tools > Administration > Device Communication. You can also override these defaults for each individual device as you import them.
