Cisco VPN Client for Mac OS X crashes/stalls with 7.2(1) IOS for ASA5520

After upgrading the IOS of our ASA5520 to version 7.2(1)from 7.0(2), people in our company using Mac OS X 10.4.8 running any version of Cisco VPN Client (4.6,4.7,4.8 & 4.9) could not connect to our company network via VPN.

At first the VPN client crashed, after repeated attempts to connect, it showed that it was getting connected however the "Connected time" did not show any time. On the ADSM everything seemed fine, and that the clients were getting connected and receiving an IP address, however this was not the case.

We tried creating new lower security profiles, tried both IPSec over UDP (NAT / PAT), IPSec over TCP transports but all attempts failed.

After rolling back to 7.0(2) the issue was resolved.

Has anybody else experienced this problem or has found a workaround?
