Kathy,
I have not personally used VPN Client over Satellite connection but one of the biggest challenges that VPN users face over Satellites, is the latency.
Are you using IPSec Over UDP or TCP. I have seen issues with satellite connections when using IPSec Over TCP. IPSec Over UDP should work fine.
I would test your VPN Client from a dial up to make sure that its working fine. Then try the satellite connection, if it does not work, Call the service provider and explain the situation and they should be able to provide you some additional guidance.
Also, logs from the Client and VPN Server should help you to isolate the problem of why you are not able to connect.
I hope it helps.

Kathy,
Based on the logs from the VPN Client, the issue does not seem to be with Satellite Connection. The VPN Client software itself is having problems finding the virutal adapter.
In your case, the best place to start is to uninstall the client manually and re-install the VPN Client. Please follow the below URL for details

BTW, did you have any other Cisco VPN Client installed prior to installing the current one.

Yes I did, in fact it worked before I did that but then my PC would not restart so then I did a restore but the VPN client did not fully restore so I had to reload it.

Kathy,
Looks like the VPN Client installation did not go smoothly and has something to do with the Virtual Adapter not getting installed properly.
At this point of time, I think your option is to manually uninstall the client and try to install it again.

Hi Kathy,
There are two grades of Satellite Internet service, consumer and commercial.
Consumer VSAT (StarBand/HughesNet/Wildblue) networks are shared services with greater contention factors. Yes, using UDP you will connect but the speeds will be close to dialup.
Commercial VSAT networks provide shared or dedicated services offering less contention. Using UDP you will connect but the speeds will rarely be as good as DSL/Cable or T-1.
VSAT Providers such as Spacenet and Unasat have products that will work in a VPN IP-SEC environment.
Hope this helps?
