If it is a Windows-Problem to assign a special net mask other than the class full it should be resolved with the client software. It is a Problem of the Cisco Client. I know other VPN Software Clients that assign always a class C Mask. In our special case we must open our 2nd FW to pass the VPN Client traffic. Or we have to define a new class C network. That is not really a choice.
