client VPNs to Gateway and NAT 0 statement

In order for a vpn from a desktop with a client to work there must be a nat 0 statement on the PIX. However there does not have to be a nat statement. Why does the nat 0 statement work w/o a statement NATting in the first place?

Curious,

Jim Terry

Re: client VPNs to Gateway and NAT 0 statement

Nat 0 is simply NAT without changing the source IP address. It is required for the tunnel traffic.
