Configure PIX for VPN

To configure the PIX 50x firewall for supporting the VPN, I have two questions:

1)Is the configuration web-based? i.e., I only need a PC connect to the firewall equipment, then start the configuration via my PC's web browser (using wizards)?

2.Do I need a CD to install some software on my PC for this purpose (configuration of the firewall?

Thanks

Scott

Re: Configure PIX for VPN

If your PIX is setup with the PIX Device Manager (PDM) you can access it with a standard browser. If the PDM software has not been loaded or configured, you can set it up by following the instructions here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/netmgtsw/ps2032/products_installation_guide_book09186a008017a431.html

With PDM running, you can configure your VPN by using the built-in wizard. For documentation on configuring your VPN using the wizards visit:

http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/products/ps2032/c1626/ccmigration_09186a0080189166.pdf

For more general infomation on PDM such as browser requirements please reference:
