Our ISP has supplied us a Cisco router which is currently connected to a switch. I am trying to add a PIX 501 into the mix. Below is my current running configuration on the PIX and the router. I am not able get an outside connection when the PIX is in place. What am I missing? Right now I just want to access the internet with the PIX in place. When I get that figured out I want to disable the nat on the router and take care of it on the firewall.
to my config and I can ping that address from the PIX, but I still cannot reach the internet. I also tried to ping 18.104.22.168 from the PIX and I get no response. Is there something in the router config that is keeping the firewall from accessing the internet?
What is in access-list 1? You telling the nat process to translate the traffic matching ACL 1 and that should at least include the outside IP of your PIX (22.214.171.124). To just test this out don't be specific at first, just permit IP any in ACL 1 and test for connectivity from the PIX.
