How many Syslog messages can be stored by PIX if syslog servers are offline ? 100 or 512 ?
Cisco Doc Finesse is always saying that it's 100, whereas in Cisco Online Security course v 2.0, it's said (section 3.4.8 Syslog configuration):
" ...In the event that all Syslog servers or hosts are offline, the PIX stores up to 512 messages in its memory. Subsequent messages that arrive overwrite the buffer starting from the first line."
I have also noticed in KnowledgeNet SNPA ebook Page 140, the same value : 512
So what is the correct Number ????
