CSA 4.5.x --> 5.2

Dear all,

we have to update an existing 4.5.x CSA installation. The problem is that this customer uses only one host group. So all clients are registered in the same group (more than 1000!). Now we don't want to migrate all clients simultaneously. We prefer to do this step by step. Therefore we want to set up different groups. Our customer provides us with different lists. Each list should become a separate group. The problem now is that the host-names are totally different.

Is there a possiblity to move hosts by a script?

With v4.5.x, there is no supported scripting feature. An API was introduced in v5.2 for this. If host names are not unique, you're going to have to go through them manually. Sorry for the bad news, I've had to do it too. I'm really looking forward to v5.2.
