CSA MC backup

In Maintenance -> Database maintenance, you can backup the configurations, licenses, etc. But does this also backup the SQL logs containing events from all deployed agents?

1) Should I be bothered about backing up these logs?

2) If I want to, how can I backup the logs? What option do I select?

Re: CSA MC backup

Hi answering your questions !!!

1.- I can't think of a reason why you would like to backup logs apart from some sort of historical data. In any case the logs should be located under this directories. The first is the VMS logs and teh second one for CSAMC. Remember that you can always create a pruning job that perhaps keeps your data for 90 days before start removeing the older events.

Program Files\CSCOpx\log

• Program Files\CSCOpx\CSAMC45\log

2.- Use a third party utility .. the database maintenance only backs up the the CSA database and what is required to recover in an event of the CSAMC crashing. You also need to constantly export your policies and settings.

I hope it helps ... please rate it ifi ti does !!!
