CSA with ISCSI and Network Shim

I have an issue regarding an exchange 2000 server with CSA installed with the network shim. Every evening when the server was backed up it would reboot after the backup completed. When I turned off the Agent it would not reboot after the backup. I did have the Shim installed. I was wondering if there are any issues with using the network Shim and ISCSI.

Thanks,

Nat

Re: CSA with ISCSI and Network Shim

Nat, I haven't heard of any issues with CSA and iSCSI, but I can't say I'm surprised. The Network Shim is basically the Link Layer defense that CSA provides and I think you've proven that CSA is indeed the problem.

It sounds as if uninstalling the Shim would solve the reboot problem.

Hi,

Not sure on this one yet, but we definitely need to see the memory.dmp file for further information.

Thanks

Re: CSA with ISCSI and Network Shim

As far as I know, we have never tested CSA with an iSCSI interface (very interesting though). My suggestion would be the following:

1. Place agent into testmode and see if problem is resolved. If so, there are rules causing this issue.

2. if 1 does not work then disable the netshim.

3. If neither 1 or 2 does not work, let me know.

Sorry for not having a definite answer for you.

Scott
