I have always used the install shield versions of windows VPN client. I customize them using our own logos and create a self-extractable .exe file and then distribute that for installation.
The client version 4.8.01.0300 is extremely slow for the first 5-10 minutes once they get connected to the VPN concentrator but after the initial slow response, everything starts working fine with no problems. We did not experience this with version 4.7 or 4.6.
