Digital Certificates and VPN

We want to begin using digital certificates with our VPN 3030 concentrator. We plan on putting a CA Server inside. 3 Questions:

#1- is this the best way to do this, use microsoft ca server, or is there an easier way or 3rd party way to do certificates internally?

#2 - How do you set the VPN Concetrator up to use a CA Server?

#3 - How did you roll out the certificate to the clients? What was the easiest method?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Brian

Re: Digital Certificates and VPN

Microsoft CA is a good CA to be used.

Here are some links you can use as a guide for your questions:

cert to client: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/installmscert.html

cert on concentrator: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/vpn3k_scep.html

client to concentrator config: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/installboth.html .

Re: Digital Certificates and VPN

Hi,

You can have a look at the following third party products

a) Entrust Inc http://www.entrust.com/solutions/vpn/index.htm (offers products, integration guide with cisco on the website)

b) Verisign http://www.verisign.com/products/onsite/index.html (offers service, you only buy the VPN certs)

Have a look, let me know on which you require more info then.
