disable VIP interface for IPSec to work

Hi,

The problem is that the VIPs processes the packets locally on the VIP processor. The crypto engine only runs on the RSP. There is no way for the 2 processors to talk.

How do I disablea VIP2-40 or 50, disable the VIP?

I tried this command:

7500-gw(config)#crypto engine vip disable

but this is not available with the IOS running on the router.

I am running 12.2(17a)

Any suggestions?

I remember reading somewhere that IPSec cannot be implemented with VIP2-40/50. I would definately suggest that you look for more info on RSP40's support of IPSec before digging further.
