Does 2900XL support TACACS+ -Cisco Bug?

Was wondering if anyone has come across the same issue as Cisco Bug CSCdm38080 -aaa commands present, but tacacs commands are not present. This is when configuring TACACS+ on 2900XL ver 11.2(8)SA5

The Bug Status says closed- without any resolution?

Does that mean 2900XL does not support TACACS+ ??

Hello there!

I have a number of 2924XL-EN switches running version 12.0(5)XW. TACACS+ does work on these switches. I haven't tried it with 11.2(8)SA5.

Sample config from one of my switches...

aaa new-model

aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local

aaa authentication login tacacs+ local

aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ local

aaa accounting exec default start-stop group tacacs+

tacacs-server host ***.***.***.***

tacacs-server key ****************

I too had the same problem. Does this mean the 2924XL switches simply need to be upgrades to 12.0(5)to allow TACACS+ to be configured?

Yes, Its a confirmed bug for that version. These will need to be upgraded to at least 11.2(8)SA6 or higher to support TACACS+
