Hi,

yes, you need to configure Security contexts. Every firewall you need to configure two security contexts, one act as aprimary and another act as secondary. It's basically work like cluster model.

Re: does ASA 5520 active/active FO licesce support VPN

Dear sir,

Scenario:

i have to configure ASA 5520 AIP 20 for site to site and remote access VPN with failover.

Description of the Problem

Question No 1

ASA has come with a failover license. when i type the command (show version) it shows me

Failover active/active

does this mean that i have only active/active license for failover and i cannot configure active/standby failover in it.

Do i have to purchase Active/Standby license from cisco?

Does it cost if i purchase this license?

Question NO 2

Active/Active license require to configure multiple security context on ASA and according to command line configuration guide multiple security context does not support

VPN

Multicasting

Dynamic Routing Protocol

Is there any way of configuring VPN on multiple Security Context ?

Should i go for Active/ Standby License.?

Kindly update me as soon as possible.

Talha
