dropped route issue

we have a system consisting of a cisco pix 515 and a cisco 2621 router. the pix is doing our firewalling and the 2621 is doing all our site to site vpn routing. problem we are having is with a static route on the 2621. this route tells the lan to go out through the firewall to get to an outside server. we have 3 routes pointing to services outside the pix. 2 of these routes work perfect and the main route we need to work keeps failing. if i remove the route and reenter it sometimes it works for a while sometimes it does not. anyone have any ideas? thanks

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "the main route we need to work keeps failing"? Configurationwise, what is different between this route and the other two?

there is no difference between the routes

2 of the routes are for outside printers

1 route that is giving us problems is to an outside payroll server.

config is like this

142.*.*.5 is the outside of the 2621

10.0.0.1 inside

142.*.*.200 outside of the pix

10.0.0.200 inside of pix

def gate of lan is 10.0.0.1

routes in 2621 are like this

142.*.*.250 255.255.255.255 10.0.0.200 payroll app

142.*.*.229 255.255.255.255 10.0.0.200 printer

142.*.*.225 255.255.255.255 10.0.0.200 printer

the printers work fine can print and ping them but for some reason the payroll app server starts to become unpingable even though the route is still listed in the router.
