Enabling Compression between IPSEC VPN's

Hi,

Is there a way to enable software compression over IPSEC VPN's to improve throughput? (Using IOS based VPN's here) The reason I ask is that Microsoft VPN's (PPTP) appear to have better throughput

Here's a question to add to this discussion.

What if you are using a GRE Tunnel as well with the IPSEc?

Will the IPSEC Transfomr-set Compression be of any help?
