I would like encrypt certain traffic. Can my current HW support an image that would allow me to do this? IF any, besides upgrading the image, what else would you upgrade?

Thanks in advance

Re: encryption

your sw doesn't support ipsec. You have to upgrade, but your flash (8M) is very small size, I am not sure that you can find an ipsec image for that can use feature navigator tool for choosing an image.

Re: encryption

Hi, If you have a Cisco 2501 or similar instead Cisco 2600 you can use Ipsec with this HW requirements. The Cisco 2600 has a high requirements of HW always more than the 2500.

I have running IPSec with 4 Mb of SDRAM and 8M of Flash memory on the 2500.

If you can try it !, but it is not 3DES

Re: encryption

I have the 2610 and will be purchasing additional memory. I will use an ipsec with des or 3des to encrypt the traffic depending on the performance. I also have rip running on the routers and would encrypt the entire traffic between sites.
