Greetings,
I have a need to erase a configuration from a 520 PIX that is doing AAA authentication to a non-existant server. I have used the np61.bin utility to erase passwords, but it doesn't erase the configuration.
Is there a way to do this from the console port or via a jumper on the flash memory card?
Thanks

Following URL will help, see step 11 and 12;
You can also try using np60 or np53, even if you are using OS 6.1

If the above does not help, open a TAC case and they will provide you with an ERASE utility which is used to erase both IOS and configuration.

Thanks much. I also found a article on the site that said try downgrading the IOS to a older version. I found a copy of 4.2(6) for the unit, booted up on a boothelper disk, tftp'd the 4.2 version down to the unit and reloaded. Of course it complained a lot, but it did allow me to get into the unit and perform the write erase and reload.
