error message connecting to VPN

I am not sure whether the Cisco 678 ADSL Router supports VPN but I set a nat entyr for VPN anyway.

The problem is when I use W2000 Pro to connect to the VPN (another W2000 Pro accepting VPN calls) I get the 721: The remote computer is not responding error message.

Could this be because the 678 doesn't support VPN?

The 678 can be configured to allow VPN traffic through it. However, there might be problems in certain non-Cisco vendor implementations. Also, if you are using IPSec through PAT, AH must not be used and pre-share keys must be used.
