Error msg when running sysconfig-sensor

I'm trying to run sysconfig-sensor and get an error msg after I enter the values for option 6, communications infrastructure. The error basically says the eventd.conf file cannot be modified because it's a read only file system. Please see below for a screen shot of the error. Also, when I enter the nrvers command I get another error. Please see other msg below. Do I have to run the recovery CD? Why is this happening?

SYSCONFIG-SENSOR ERROR MESSAGE:

Re: Error msg when running sysconfig-sensor

This doesn't look good, did you lose power or anything like that to this site? Plug a keyboard and monitor into the sensor and do an "init 6" on it to reboot, do you get any error messages? You might try running "fsck" on it a few times, but to be honest, when you start having problems like this the recovery CD is usually where you end up.
