If the failover link between a pair of redundant asa5520 fails, what I can see is that both 5520 would claim itself active. So now there are chances that traffic would go into both firewall and create unpredictable results. Is there any method to prevent this?

do you have any syslog message from the time of failure.
Try this links:>

Thanks for you reply. I think my configuration should be fine and failover works. What I would like to know is that is this an expected behaviour that both unit claims itself active in case the failover interface fails? I think it's not the case.
