failover

hi

i have two ISP from 2 different location w/ 2 different sets of IPs

i have one cisco pix.

i was wondering what would be a good solution here in terms of failover. i mean if one isp goes down i have to manually reconfigure outside interface to switch between isp. i was wondering if you could suggest me something so in case if one isp down it'd go through another automaticly

Re: failover

firstly, just wondering if there are other devices deployed connecting to the pix outside interface, such as an router that handles the internet link from the isp.

e.g.

internet <--> router <--> pix <--> private net

if so, the pix will not be able to determine whether the internet link is up or down since the link between the pix outside interface and the router inside interface will always stay up regardless the internet link status.

to handle 2 isps, i guess it's better to deploy routers.
