In my opinion, if you want the best firewall money can buy check out the Portus Firewall from Livermore Labs. It is the only firewall product that has never been hacked. 'Nuff said on that.. Otherwise, the Nokia appliances are nice - a hardened core, easy to configure, and they run NG. Version 6.3(1) of PIX code has a nice feature - dot1q vlan support! The next release is supposed to support QoS. We'll see 'bout that. Being able to group network and service objects on the new ios versions makes the config a little cleaner, as well. And PDM is getting better, but the GUI is not quite there. It still ain't Check Point, know what I mean? Anyway, like I mentioned - only my opinions. Definitely read up on the Portus box, though.. -Rich
