Hello aksher@cisco,

Default priv is level 1. Enable gets you to priv level 15. You could also create a password at a predefined level too.

pixfirewall> sh curpriv

Username : enable_1

Current privilege level : 1

Current Mode/s : P_UNPR

pixfirewall# sh curpriv

Username : enable_15

Current privilege level : 15

Current Mode/s : P_PRIV

pixfirewall(config)# enable password cisco level 5

pixfirewall> enable 5

Password: ***** (I entered cisco)

pixfirewall# sh curpriv

Username : enable_5

Current privilege level : 5

Current Mode/s : P_PRIV

Hope this helps! If so, please rate.

Thanks

for what version is the above one pixfirewall(config)# enable password cisco level 5

i think for pre 7.0 version it's password (password) secret

My previous post was on 7.x. I did the exact same thing on 6.3 and it works in the same manner.

pixfirewall> sh curpriv

Username : enable_1

Current privilege level : 1

Current Mode/s : P_UNPR

pixfirewall> en

Password:

pixfirewall# sh curpriv

Username : enable_15

Current privilege level : 15

Current Mode/s : P_PRIV

enable password cisco level 5

pixfirewall> en 5

Password: ***** (I entered cisco)

pixfirewall# sh curpriv

Username : enable_5

Current privilege level : 5

Current Mode/s : P_PRIV

Hope that helps! If so, please rate.

Thanks
