Hi Manish,

The fixup protocol smtp command enables the Mail Guard feature. This restricts mail servers to receiving the seven minimal commands defined in RFC 821, section 4.5.1 (HELO, MAIL, RCPT, DATA, RSET, NOOP, and QUIT). All other commands are rejected.

More good info on the below url;

Thanks,

One Question????

If i am using FIXUP SMTP 25 command , then users who will access the mail

server from outside using POP3 Protocol, they are not able to send mail through the server which in inside.

any solution for this

regards

Hi Manish,

Firstly, not a good idea to have smtp servers facing the internet on the inside, better to have them on a DMZ with all the correct patchs applied, anyway, try using 'no fixup protocol POP3' (port 110) and if this don't work try 'no fixup protocol smtp 25' and see what happens when your users try to connect via POP3.

Hope this helps --

Manish,

That should work. Have the Email Server on the DMZ as mentioned earlier. Follow the sample configs on this url under "Mail" section.
