I have been having a problem with FTP on my Windows 2000 pro workstation after installing Cisco VPN Client 3.1, also seen when Client software 3.51 is installed.
When I use FTP after the software has been installed, but not using the VPN client, I get connections timed out after entering a username and password on any FTP site that I am trying to send / receive to / from.
I know that this is down to the VPN client software, because when I un-install the Client software FTP works again.
Are there any fixes, suggestions, workarounds that anyone has come across ?.
Many Thanks.

I just disable the CISCO VPN service...Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service.
NET STOP CVPND from the command prompt. I have a little start stop bat for this which helps out A LOT.
Hope that helps

Thanks,
It's nice too know that I'm not going mad.
Strange that the VPN client software works fine with NT 4.0 and XP Pro but not Win 2000 Pro !!.
Thanks again.
