FWSM 6509 Routed Ports

Is it possible to get the FWSM 3.1 in a 6509 to use routed ports on the outside interface by allocating routed ports to the oustide SVI? We want to do this because we use EIGRP for the distribution switch failover routing.

Yes, it possible.

SVI interface an either be the inside, outside or any of the dmz interfaces. Depending on the design if we choose to make the outside interface on FWSM as the SVI interface.

Re: FWSM 6509 Routed Ports

To clarify: we need to have the FWSM protect two major subnets on the 6509 core. Outside interface to connect to routed ports which connect EIGRP external distribution switches. Inside interface to connect to 6509 internal VLAN subnets. Problem is FWSM cant have two SVI being routed by MFSC so other interfaces must connect to physical interfaces, but it appears only Layer 2 interfaces are allowed.
